Carrie Alexandra Coon, also known as Carrie Coon, is an award-winning American Actress and stage performer. She has received several awards for her roles in many television drama series. She was awarded Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series and TCA Award for Individual Achievement in Drama, for playing the role of Nora Durst in the HBO series, The Leftovers (2014–2017). This was an interesting role for Carrie, and one she could associate with in a very real way. As a child, she would often wonder what would happen if the world ended. The drama deals with a similar, dystopian scenario.
In 2003, Carrie finished her Bachelor of Arts major in English and Spanish from the University of Mount Union. Three years later, she attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison and finished her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Acting.
Carrie started her career performing in theatres and made her professional stage debut in a metatheatrical three-act play, entitled Our Town (1938). Soon, she made her Broadway debut when she joined the cast of the stage production, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (2010) – winning her a Theatre World Award and getting her a Tony Award nomination.
Soon, Carrie made her screen appearances in television series including The Playboy Club (2011), Fargo (2017), and The Sinner (2018). She also appeared in various movies such as Gone Girl (2014), Strange Weather (2016), and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).
