The original Joy fragrance by Dior has a new, more potent version called Joy Intense. To create an “intense burst of flowers,” perfumer François Demachy added a note of neroli to the traditional jasmine and rose bouquet. The dry down’s last notes of vanilla and tonka bean give the classic sandalwood and musk combination a creamy woodiness. The cannage symbol, compass rose star, and a more robust rose juice have been added to the original Joy bottle.
The Oscar-winning actress signed a multi-year deal with the French fashion house in 2012 and has since fronted several of its campaigns, including those for Miss Dior handbags and its “Ready-to-Wear” line.
“I am delighted to continue and intensify my close collaboration with Dior,” Lawrence said in a statement at the time. “It is a brand with which I had a very special relationship since my first shoot with [former Dior Creative Director] Mr. Galliano when I was only 16 years old.”
