On the production of the movie Gigli in 2002, J.Lo and actor Ben Affleck linked, and less than a year later, they got engaged. In 2004, the pair, known as “Bennifer,” decided not to get married.
Ben admitted to The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 that they still kept in touch. He said, “We don’t have the kind of connection where she looks to me for guidance. But we do have the kind of friendship where we’ll exchange emails saying, “Oh, your movie looks great.” I recall telling her, “This was smart. Good luck,” after she won American Idol.
In May 2021, reports that they had restarted their romance spread. Moreover, Jennifer announced their engagement in her newsletter, On The J.Lo, just under a year after they started dating (again).
Jennifer says, “We have to be very conscious of those things because we’re older, smarter, more experienced, at different points in our lives, and now have kids. The fact that this has occurred in this manner at this point in our lives when we can truly appreciate, celebrate, and respect one another, is a great outcome.”
Additionally, Jennifer announced that she had wed Ben in a secret ceremony in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022, in her newsletter, On The J. Lo. With four other couples, Jennifer waited in line to get her marriage license. They kept things simple, and she donned an outfit from an old movie.
Marc Anthony, Third Husband
Marc Anthony and J.Lo were wed for seven years until divorcing in 2011. in June 2004, and Lopez and Anthony went on to spend many happy years together. The pair welcomed twins Max and Emme in February 2008 but split in July 2011 due to irreconcilable differences. It didn’t work out in the end, but she said in an interview with Sunday TODAY that he always supported her job. She added that Marc frequently told her she was “a great singer” and urged her not to doubt herself. “While I was married to Marc, he really helped me with my confidence, and he saw where I had suffered,” she said.
Cris Judd, Second Husband
J.Lo’s second husband was dancer and choreographer Cris Judd, to whom she was married for just nine months from 2001 to 2002. They met on the set of her music video, “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” which Judd directed. Love at first sight, so to speak. If not for him, then. In the end, the media tension strained their relationship. “So, when Jennifer walks in, I shake her hand and we kinda look at each other—and in my head, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to marry this woman,'” Judd said on an episode of “Where Are They Now?”
Ojani Noa, First Husband
When Ojani Noa, a wannabe musician, was a waiter at a Miami restaurant in the late ’90s, J.Lo met him. They were married for 11 months before divorcing in January 1998. Ojani was then given a permanent injunction in August 2007 that forbade him from “criticizing, denigrating, casting in a negative light or otherwise disparaging,” according to the US. There is not much else known about their connection.
Jennifer Lopez’s Relationships: Everything to Know About Her Love Life
Alex Rodriguez, Fiancé
J-Rod and Sharon appeared to be each other’s biggest supporters. The pair announced their engagement on Instagram on March 10, 2019. The couple had intended to wed in 2020, but owing to COVID-19, they postponed the ceremony several times before putting it off altogether. Additionally, Alex had an affair with Southern Charm actress Madison LeCroy, although it’s unclear if that was the cause of their breakup.
In a joint statement to TODAY, J-Lo and A-Rod announced their engagement was over. The statement reads that they “will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects,” that they “wish the best for each other and one another’s children,” and that they “have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”
Drake, Boyfriend
Late in 2016, there were rumors that J.Lo was dating the “In My Feelings” singer. In February 2017, she refuted the allegations on Ellen DeGeneres, saying the pair collaborated on a song. The Instagram posts showed them “hanging out.”
However, Drake made a relationship suggestion in his song “Diplomatic Immunity,” saying, “2017 I lost a J. Lo / A Rotterdam trip had me on the front page, though,” he rapped. Sounds like a solid J. A. Rod and Lo reference, but hey, you never know.
Casper Smart, Boyfriend
For two and a half years, Jennifer dated Casper Smart, who was 17 years younger than she was. According to Smart in 2012, quoted by Page Six, “It was really professional for a very long time before anything even happened.” “It just really spontaneously happened, I guess. The chemistry was there. You can’t fight it.”
Page Six reports they broke up in 2014 amid claims Smart was accused of sexting with two models. They briefly rekindled their romance in 2015 before breaking things off in 2016.
Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs, Boyfriend
Jenny from the Block dated fellow music artist Puffy Daddy/Sean Combs (now known as Diddy) from 1999 to 2001. Around the time J.Lo’s debut album On The 6 was released, they started dating, and, get this, they got jailed together.
According to reports, they had a difficult relationship filled with adultery that ultimately ended in a breakup. Jennifer Lopez confirmed in a 2003 interview with Vibe, “I was in this relationship with Puff where I was totally crying, crazy, and going nuts, and it really took my whole life in a tailspin.” It hurts to explain, “I never caught him [cheating], but I just knew. He’d say he was going to a club for a couple of hours and then never return that night.”
David Cruz, Boyfriend
When Jennifer was only 15, she met her high school sweetheart; but, as she gained fame, their relationship grew stale. Although David Cruz passed away in March 2020, Jenny still praises her ex, saying “he is a true friend…and knows her better than anyone else.”
