She is famous for her roles in the American serial political drama show, The West Wing (2004–2006), and crime drama series, In Plain Sight (2008-2012), where she was nominated for the Prism Award for Performance in a Drama Episode in 2009. She is also the godmother of her co-star’s, Fred Weller, daughter.
Mary began her acting career at a very young age. At the age 12, she made her stage debut in Christmas opera production, Amahl and the Night Visitors, where she played the role of a boy. She continued performing on stage while studying. She finished Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Arts, majored in English and painting, from Trinity College.
Soon, Mary starred in many television series including Murder One (1995–1997), K Street, (2003), and The Kids Are Alright (2018–2019). In 1994, she made her film debut in the Christmas comedy-drama fantasy film , Miracle on 34th Street. She also appeared in various films including Private Parts (1997), Getting to Know You (1999), The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy (2000), and Scooby-Doo! WrestleMania Mystery (2014). Mary is a regular panelist on Lisa Kudrow’s game show 25 Words or Less.
