Stephen Chow Sing Chi is a filmmaker, martial artist, actor, and producer better known on the program 430 Space Shuttle. He is also a political adviser of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Chow was first seen in the film Final Justice, a Hong Kong crime film directed by Parkman Wong. It was the first time that Chow was seen in a film and yet he already netted the Best Supporting Actor Award by the Taiwan Golden Horse Awards.
Chow was next seen in The Final Combat (1989) where he shot to stardom. After his successful portrayal of his role, he starred in more than 40 films in the following decade. His comedy film Fight Back to School (1991) was declared Hong Kong’s top-grossing film of all time.
As a successful actor, he then started directing films in 1994. His films were greatly loved in China and were tagged as Stephen Chow Phenomenon. In fact, his 2001 film Shaolin Soccer was very famous all over the world with a gross income of over US$50 million. In 2016, Chow was named the ‘ninth-top-grossing Hollywood Director’.
