Born as Denise Michelle Crosby, Denise is an American model, television and theater actress, and producer. She became popular when she portrayed the roles of Security Chief Tasha Yar and Commander Sela in the Science fiction TV series, Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1991).
Denise came from a family of actors — her dad being actor, Dennis Croby, and her grandfather being actor and singer, Bing Crosby. Because of her family background, she also got interested in acting. She studied theater at Cabrillo College but wasn’t able to finish her degree. She then started working as a model and even got featured on Playboy Magazine (1979).
Denise’s first television appearance was in the television drama series Days of Our Lives (1980) — portraying the role of Lisa Davis.
