Mark Guiseppe Salussolia, better known as Mark Strong, is a successful actor well known for the films Stardust (2007), Sherlock Holmes (2009), Kick-Ass (2010), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), The Imitation Game (2014), Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017) and Shazam! (2019).
Mark Strong has won countless awards and nominations throughout his career as an actor. He won the Central Ohio Film Critics Association Award for Best Cast. Strong was raised by his mother after his Italian father left them after he was born. When Mark was 5 years old, his mom sent him to Reeham Orphanage, which was a state-run home for children who did not have a father. Then, at 11 his mom moved away for work and he was sent to another boarding school. Instead of thinking of this time sadly, he fondly remembers the children that he was with as being like his brothers and sisters, and even says that if it wasn’t for his experiences there then he would not have made it as an actor. He first dreamed of becoming a lawyer but soon decided to pursue English and Drama at the Royal Holloway and Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
